About Me

Leech Lake water runs in the Hansen family blood. My great great grandparents first started coming to Leech Lake in 1915 and bought a cabin in Portage Bay shortly after. Six generations later the Hansen family continues the family tradition of fishing Leech Lake. Growing up I could not wait for the next time I got to go to the cabin to hang out with the family and of course do some fishing. My Grandpa, Bill “The Crazy Loon” Hansen and my father Jason were the ones who introduced me to fishing, which I fell in love with it at a very young age. At age 10 I started to go out muskie fishing with my dad, catching my first one at age 11. That is where the addiction to the chase for big fish began. I now relentlessly chase that next big bite whether it is a 15” crappie, 10” Bluegill, 30” Walleye or a 50” muskie. While attending college at Bemidji State University I kicked off my guiding career on Leech Lake and have been fishing the area nearly everyday for the last 5 years. When I started guiding I realized that watching someone else catch their fish of a lifetime and getting to share that moment with them is the most rewarding part of it all. Come join me to chase your fish of a lifetime!
